The Prairie View City Chamber of Commerce recently received a grant from the Texas African American Chamber of Commerce to assist the chapter with outreach and helping to establish African American Chambers of Commerce throughout its region.

On July 1, the Chamber met with the leadership the proposed Brazos Valley African American Chamber of Commerce.

The leadership team expressed its thanks for the future assistance. Currently organization has elected organizing officers, preparing documents for filing  - DBA with county for the name and operation, securing the EIN and establishing a bank account and also filing for the 501 (c) 6 designation with the IRS.

Preliminary plans are underway to further assist the group in the coming months.
